Happy 182nd birthday, Eadweard Muybridge! He proved: when horses are in a gallop, all four of the hooves don’t touch the ground (at one given point). Up until this was discovered, horses had been shown in paintings with their two front hooves touching the ground in a gallop. We owe him for motion & animation
